  • All production sites fulfill highest standards

The Tognum Group was recently awarded the ISO 14001 certificate for its exemplary environmental management following a review of environmental protection at its worldwide locations. This guarantees that Tognum production facilities all fulfill the highest environmental standards. Executive Board member Joachim Coers received the certificate for Tognum and pointed out: “Environmental protection is both an image factor and an economic factor. In many cases, customers link the award of orders directly to our adherence to these standards. The aspect of environmental protection is therefore becoming more and more economically crucial and is of key importance for companies’ competitiveness.”

The environmental certificate is awarded anew every three years after a review of all production facilities. The main location actually has to pass a test of its environmental management each year. The foundation of Tognum’s environmental protection is provided by the Group’s employees, each of whom assumes direct environmental responsibility for his or her area of work. The Tognum subsidiaries support active environmental protection by means of targeted training courses. These courses focus mainly on the economical use of water, energy and paper. But environmental management also includes a professional approach to hazardous materials and waste water.

Tognum’s commitment to combining business activities with environmental awareness can also be seen from the fact that the newly acquired Tognum onsite energy unit, Katolight Corp. in Mankato, USA, will also be certified according to the high ISO environmental standard within the next twelve months.
