Rolls-Royce Power Systems looking to recruit 120 skilled workers

• Order book for first half of 2019 extremely buoyant
• ‘Applicant’s Day’ attracts 80 prospective recruits for jobs in metalworking and electronics
• Demand for new capacities set to continue

Friedrichshafen – Rolls-Royce Power Systems is looking to employ around 120 new technicians in metalworking and electronics positions. At a recent Applicants’ Day event, 80 potential employees gained insights int0 the workings of parts manufacturing at MTU Friedrichshafen. “Our order books for the first half of 2019 are already very full and to meet our higher production targets we need to take on new staff so that we can   continue to build on that success,” said Labor Director Marcus A. Wassenberg. With more than twice as many people wanting to attend as places available, the Applicants’ Day event proved extremely popular. “Along with   above-average remuneration , we offer our employees additional benefits such as a health management system, our own company health insurance scheme and an excellent canteen. These are all elements that enable us to achieve a good work-life balance,” he added. Among the qualified staff in demand are machine operators, CNC turners / grinding technicians, pipe fitters and sheet metal workers, metalworking specialists, materials logistics staff, maintenance technicians for machines and test equipment in the electronics manufacturing section as well as electricians and electronics specialists.

“Our sophisticated product range also makes working at our company particularly attractive,” stressed Stefan Striebig who heads the Competence Center for Turbocharging and who also co-organized the event. Applicants’ Day participants were able to take a tour of the facility and inspect cutting-edge production plant for manufacturing components such as cylinder heads and turbochargers. “Our visitors were extremely keen and we expect to receive a high number of applications,” said Striebig.   
         
Power Systems is also expanding its workforce in other specialist areas. For example, there are currently around 70 posts available in the Service, Sales and R&D sections.
