Friedrichshafen/Dubai, 15 February, 2013. Tognum is to showcase its mtu Onsite Energy gensets at Middle East Electricity - the electricity, power and energy trade show in Dubai from 17 to 19 February. Its onsite power generation plants based on diesel and gas engines fulfill the requirements for standby, peak-shaving, prime and continuous power. On show at booth S3D20 will be a DS0330D5S genset based on the 6-cylinder inline mtu Series 1600 engine. With 330kVA output, this genset is suitable for ensuring standby power in locations such as residential buildings, construction sites and small remote camps. This unit headlines the diesel genset portfolio covering power outputs from 28 to 3,310kVA ideal for airports, hospitals, data centers and other mission critical applications. Also in the product portfolio are gas gensets based on Series 400 and 4000 engines with power outputs up to 2,145kWel. These are frequently used in the Middle East region for supplying independent continuous power to industrial plants, hospitals, shopping malls and entire urban districts. mtu Onsite Energy also supplies diesel and gas-driven power stations as complete solutions. These modular power stations are made up of multiple containerized units, each with an average power output of 1.5MW, and serve to ensure a continuous power supply, even in remote areas.
