Stuttgart/Glatten, 5 September 2011. Tognum subsidiary L’Orange GmbH, the specialist for high-pressure injection systems, now has a workforce of over 1,000 employees for the first time in its history. The number of workers jumped the magic mark in September. Rapid expansion of the company’s workforce is the result of the strong demand on world markets for injection systems for large diesel and heavy oil engines. In recent months, Glatten, the manufacturing facility, has taken on mainly skilled workers for production, whilst the R&D department in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen has engaged several engineers.
"Our production facility in Glatten employs over 750 people, making us one of the main employers in the Freudenstadt area. We are very proud of the fact that the quality of our workmanship has made us so popular with customers," said Dr. Ralph-Michael Schmidt, head of L’Orange. "We are determined to grow our business even more. With our committed workforce and high-quality products, we are well equipped to achieve that aim," he added.
Alongside 16 new employees, twelve apprentices began their training as industrial mechanics on 1. September, and a small get-together was organized for all those whose engagement took L’Orange past the 1000 employees mark.
In addition to the 750-strong workforce at the Glatten production facility, L’Orange GmbH employs 150 people at its headquarters in Stuttgart, and about another 100 in Wolfratshausen. L’Orange employees also work in the service centers of Rellingen in Germany and Suzhou in China. L’Orange injection systems are used in locomotives, yachts, mining vehicles, and gensets, as well as in passenger and cargo ships.
