Tognum opens new offices in Hamburg

Tognum subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen today officially opened the new offices for its German headquarters on the Harburg river port in Hamburg. mtu has now maintained a base in Hamburg for 50 years. A workforce of around 100 staff at the new Hamburg offices will control sales and after-sales for the German market.

Friedrichshafen/Hamburg, 11 April 2008. Tognum subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen today officially opened the new offices for its German headquarters on the Harburg river port in Hamburg. mtu has now maintained a base in Hamburg for 50 years. A workforce of around 100 staff at the new Hamburg offices will control sales and after-sales for the German market.
“With the geographical and organizational fusion of Sales and After-sales in Hamburg, we are demonstrating our commitment to proximity with the German market and our customers,” emphasizes Tognum Sales Vice President Rainer Breidenbach. The benefits of the Hamburg location include the large number of existing and potential customers in northern Germany in the shipping, power generation, rail and industrial sectors, not to mention the extensive resource of experienced mtu engineers.
The new premises are in the “Fleethaus”, a former grain store on the Hamburg river port at the corner of the Veritaskai and the Schellerdamm. Behind the historical frontage protected by a building preservation order, over 5,000 square meters of ultra-modern office space has been created as part of an urban renewal project. The MTU Friedrichshafen offices occupy around 700 square meters.
