Tognum appoints new department heads for Finance, Investor Relations and Corporate Communication

As of 1st August, Dieter Royal (43) took charge of Tognum AG Corporate Finance comprising the sections Accounting, Group Planning, Treasury and Mergers & Acquisitions. Until July 2007, he had been at the MDAX-listed systems engineering provider and robot manufacturer, KUKA AG of Augsburg
As of 1st August, Dieter Royal (43) took charge of Tognum AG Corporate Finance comprising the sections Accounting, Group Planning, Treasury and Mergers & Acquisitions. Until July 2007, he had been at the MDAX-listed systems engineering provider and robot manufacturer, KUKA AG of Augsburg. As head of the M&A department, he was substantially responsible for the repositioning of the former IWKA AG in 2007/2007 and the associated capital market communication in his simultaneous role as head of Investor Relations. Previously he had been in charge of Group Controlling at the Stuttgart-based plant and systems engineering group, Coperion. An economics graduate, he began his professional career in investment banking with Dresdner Bank AG in 1992, where he remained until 1999, occupying management positions in the Leveraged Finance and Capital Markets departments at the bank’s Frankfurt, New York and São Paulo offices. At Tognum, Royal will report directly to the group’s Finance Vice President, Joachim Coers.

Achim Schneider (37) took up the post of Head of the Investor Relations department at Tognum AG in July. Prior to that he had already been project manager for the successful stock market listing. Between 1999 and 2006, the business management graduate (BA) had been a manager in the IR and Finance Communication departments at Infineon Technologies AG. Following stock market listing in Frankfurt and New York, he had initially set up the multi-award winning Finance Communication section at the Munich semiconductor manufacturer. Most recently he oversaw relations between the DAX-listed corporation and its North American investors from the San José offices in California.

For five years prior to 1999 he worked for Jenoptik AG in Jena, ultimately reaching the position of deputy head of Public Relations.
At Tognum, Schneider reports directly to President and CEO, Volker Heuer, and Finance Vice President, Joachim Coers.

Stefan Wortmann (41) took over as head of Corporate Communication at Tognum AG in Friedrichshafen on 1st September, reporting directly to President and CEO, Volker Heuer. Previously, Wortmann ran the Group Press/Public Relations and Internal Communication departments at SGL Carbon AG in Wiesbaden for six years. Prior to that he spent close to six years as Press/Public Relations Manager for Pharmahandel AG & Co. KG in Mannheim. After studying politics, languages and media, he initially worked as a specialist publication journalist. While still a student he freelanced part-time for the Press and Public Relations department of ABB Deutschland AG in Mannheim for five years. Wortmann succeeds Toni Melfi, who has moved to Audi AG as head of Corporate Communication.
