Engine generator set a finalist in national competition
Consulting and Specifying Engineer’s board of judges recently selected Katolight/MTU DD Power Generation’s 3250 kW diesel engine generator set as one of three finalists in the power generation category of the publication’s Product of the Year competition.
The engine generator set, manufactured at Katolight’s headquarters in Mankato, Minnesota, will be represented in the annual Specifiers Guide mailed out with CSE’s May issue. At that time, CSE subscribers will vote on which finalists will win Gold, Silver or Bronze in each category. A Most Valuable Product designation will also be awarded.
The Katolight/MTU DD Power Generation 3250 kW unit was first introduced to the public at the Power Gen trade show, held in New Orleans in December of 2007. The impressive power provider, which features a four cycle 20V4000 engine and a state of the art digital control panel, is the first 1800 RPM unit of its size offered in North America.
In April 2007, Katolight brand became a strategic holding of Germany-based Tognum Group, which includes mtu, MDE, CFC Solutions, L’Orange and Rotorion. This exciting integration with Tognum Group’s impressive catalog of power brand companies insures our customers throughout the world of our long term position as one of the global leaders in power generation manufacturing and customer service with a century of power generation experience.
