mtu natural gas-powered Series 4000 genset
The mtu Series 4000 natural gas genset offers the highest power density in its class. Designed with cutting-edge technology, the mtu Series 4000 natural gas genset is optimized for maximum performance and low emissions to deliver an economical, reliable, and sustainable source of power. They are ideally suited for a variety of applications including utility, industrial manufacturing, hospital and data centers, among others.
Gas gensets powered by the mtu Series 4000 can be operated with a gas blending of hydrogen, making them future-ready. They also have the possibility to be converted to 100% hydrogen, for when hydrogen is more widely accessible and economical as a primary fuel. Discover the mtu Series 4000 performance and flexibility that exceeds expectations.
mtu Series 4000 Gas Generator Sets Provide:
Operational Flexibility
Best in class power density
Low Lifecycle Costs
Up To 44.4% Efficiency
Hydrogen blending
Highly-efficient combustion technology results in consistently low emissions.
These emissions can be even lower when a highly-efficient engine like our mtu Series 4000 is run on green hydrogen. The engine is currently available for hydrogen blending and will soon be available to run on 100% hydrogen. When hydrogen is produced from renewables by means of electrolysis, it is referred to as “green” hydrogen. When generated in this way, it can be used as a climate-neutral fuel by modern gas engines, which convert it into electricity in a highly-efficient manner. The waste heat can be used for heating and cooling.
