WE KEEP ON ANSWERING
Power generation needs are always specific. Our answers are specific, too. We combine flexible products with intelligent systems, consulting expertise and comprehensive services to offer clients sustainable solutions that always deliver optimum performance over the entire lifecycle – solutions like our new mtu Series 500.
With the mtu Series 500, we are introducing both natural gas and biogas gensets to the 250 - 550 kWe power range that are ideally suited for utility, industrial, digester applications, wastewater treatment and other applications. The units feature an mtu Module Control (MMC) that monitors all genset activities, seamlessly integrates with microgrid environments and creates a digital link to our global service network.

Green hydrogen – the fuel of the future
Renewable energy sources will play a pivotal role for the power supply of the future, particularly from sources like the sun and the wind. Hydrogen produced from renewables by means of electrolysis is referred to as “green” hydrogen. Hydrogen generated in this way can be used as a climate-neutral fuel by modern gas engines, which convert it into electricity in a highly efficient manner. The waste heat can be used for heating and cooling. Our new Series 500 natural gas systems can be upgraded to run on green hydrogen.
Benefits:
Series 500 and the mtu Module Control – the perfect match
mtu Module Control (MMC) - Continuous system monitoring
If the gas engine is the heart of the genset, then the mtu Module Control is the brain. Housed in a separate panel next to the genset, the MMC automation system handles all important functions needed for continuously monitoring and controlling the entire system.
- Industrial PC with colour touchscreen
- Monitors all processes
- Logs all activities
- Seamless environment integration
- Multi-module system networking
- Supports numerous protocols
- Optional remote diagnosis via DSL or ISDN
- Optional integration of SMS/email client (notification of faults, daily reporting of all meter readings)
