Tognum sponsors Match Race Germany

• Boat partner for renowned sailing event

Friedrichshafen, 7 May 2008. Tognum and its subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen are sponsors of the international sailing competition Match Race Germany. The regatta will be held off Langenargen at Lake Constance from 8 to 12 May 2008. One of the eight racing yachts will start with the Tognum logo on its hull, spinnaker, foresail and mainsail. Tognum has thus added to its existing mtu sponsoring activities.

At this year’s eleventh Match Race Germany in Langenargen, top teams of the Match Race world ranking list, the America’s Cup and Olympic winners will be sailing in duels against each other. Tognum’s CEO Volker Heuer: “Team spirit is the basis for success in sport sailing. The same applies to successful companies such as Tognum: Positive results can only be achieved if everyone pulls together.”

Match Race Germany is part of the world championship and the only German event in the global World Match Racing Tour. In recent years, the regatta has been watched by several thousand spectators from the shore of the lake.

The races take place from 8 to 12 May, daily between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.; the final is on Whit Monday (12 May) between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. As in previous years, entry is free of charge.
After the event, the yacht sponsored by Tognum will be in use on Lake Constance for general corporate events, yacht charter or other regional regattas.
