• `Tognum Take-off´ gives students an insight into vocational training
• No need to register visits in advance

Friedrichshafen, 20 June 2013. On Wednesday, 26 June 2013, the catchphrase at Tognum subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen will again be `Ready for take-off?´ From 08:00h to 16:00h, at mtu Plant 1 (Maybachplatz) in Friedrichshafen, the `Tognum Take-off´ event will give students and parents the chance to see for themselves what vocational training is all about. Visitors do not need to register in advance: current trainees will be on hand to guide them around the training facilities in small groups for tours lasting between 60 and 90 minutes.

At various stops designed to provide `hands-on´ experience, visitors will be able to put their questions about the different training courses and application procedures to apprentices and their trainers. The trades and qualifications available include Industrial Management Assistant, Electronics Technician, Industrial Mechanic and Technical Product Designer. Students from the Cooperative University will also provide an insight into periods of theoretical and practical training involved in commercial and engineering science courses.

“This is just the thing for those who have not yet made their minds up. If people are confused by the wide range of courses on offer, they can take a closer look at as many as they want,” said Martin Stocker, in charge of training at Tognum. `Tognum Take-off´ is for school-leavers from all types of school and aims to offer help in deciding how to approach the upcoming application phase for the training year 2014.
