mtu Onsite Energy and Kogeneracja cooperate on the construction of CHP plants in Poland

Tognum subsidiary mtu Onsite Energy and regional Polish energy supplier Kogeneracja Zachód intend to form a partnership for the supply and maintenance of CHP plants.

Friedrichshafen/Augsburg/Przemyśl, October 29, 2013. Tognum subsidiary mtu Onsite Energy and regional Polish energy supplier Kogeneracja Zachód intend to form a partnership for the supply and maintenance of CHP plants. The first stage involves the supply and maintenance by mtu Onsite Energy of CHP plants producing a total of 12 MW of electricity for the three Polish cities of Białogard, Szamotuły and Łęczyca. In further projects over the coming years, both companies plan on working exclusively with each other to supply small to medium-sized Polish cities with environmentally-friendly energy from combined heat and power plants. “For us, Poland is a strategically important market in which we will be offering clean and energy-efficient CHP plants for the generation of electricity and heat,” said Dr Rainer Hönig, Executive Vice President of the Tognum Onsite Energy division.

mtu and Kogeneracja signed the letter of intent at an international conference in the Special Economic Zone of Przemyśl in southern Poland. Kogeneracja Zachód is a Polish company which specializes in converting local coal-fired power stations into environmentally-friendly CHP plants which it then operates.
