Silver Medal for 2007 Tognum Annual Report

• Second place in the "Best Annual Report" (“Der beste Geschäftsbericht“) competition in the category “Stock Exchange Newcomers 2007” in the Prime Standard at the Deutsche Boerse
• Manager Magazin awards quality in report

Friedrichshafen, 4 September 2008. Tognum AG was awarded for its 2007 Annual Report. In this year’s ranking of “Best Annual Report” of the business magazine, Manager Magazin, Tognum came second in the category “Stock Exchange Newcomers”, the category it joined in 2007, in the Prime Standard segment of the Deutsche Boerse. This stock exchange segment demands the highest standards in financial reporting. Criteria such as the quality of content of the reporting (60 percent), design and language (every 20 percent) were included in the assessment.

Manager Magazin analysed the reporting of the most important German and European public listed companies for the 14th time and awarded the prizes on 3 September in Frankfurt. This competition is independently organised and also the most comprehensive comparison in Germany and Europe, as well as one of the largest worldwide. The selection committee analysed the 2007 annual and quarterly reports of around 200 companies in six segments: Besides the category for the 30 exchange newcomers, companies in the DAX, MDAX, SDAX, TecDAX and the DJ Euro STOXX 50 stock exchange segments were assessed separately. Professor Joerg Baetge from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Muenster was responsible for the technical direction of the competition.

With the motto “Home of Power Brands”, Tognum AG comprehensively presents the products, strategy as well as the management of the engines and systems provider in its first annual report. “We are very delighted to see that our reporting is evaluated highly by experts, right from the outset", said Joachim Coers, Tognum AG’s Deputy Chairman and Chief Financial Officer, at the awards ceremony in Frankfurt. “This award also confirms our understanding of active investor relations which is based on a trusting and continuous communication with the capital market. It is our goal to convince investors with a long term orientation of the above-average stability and profitability of our business model.”
Besides the internal Tognum team, the agencies GFD Finanzkommunikation and M. Konrad/FIRE.sys (both in Frankfurt) participated in the preparation of Tognum’s first annual report.
