A view of the mtu booth

发帖 2014年9月24日Rolf Behrens, 图片拍摄者 Ralf Rühmeier

mtu showcases an engine from bygone days, and next to it, its current rail portfolio.
Berlin, Germany

Never was an mtu engine so celebrated by the public. In May 1933, the 'Hamburger Flyer' high-speed diesel train, powered by the GO-5, entered Hamburg main station to rapturous applause. It had just completed the Berlin-Hamburg line in less than 21/2 hours - at the time, a sensation. Karl Maybach's achievement was not just development of the GO-5 engine with 410 HP. Besides equipment in the immediate periphery of the engine such as the mountings, the air and fuel supply lines, the exhaust pipework and the engine cooling system, he had also developed the vehicle cooling system and the transmission.

The content of the stories reflects the status as of the respective date of publication. They are not updated. Further developments are therefore not taken into account.
