Friedrichshafen/Dubai, February 11, 2014. mtu Onsite Energy, a Rolls-Royce Power Systems brand, will be presenting a new product line of gensets at Middle East Electricity, the energy industry trade show taking place in Dubai from 11 to 13 February (booth S2B20). The gensets of the new Series 4000 are based on Series 4000 diesel engines from mtu and deliver up to 3,400 kVA output. On show at the mtu Onsite Energy booth will be the type DS02500D5S genset which is based on the mtu 16V 4000 G23 engine. Thanks to the new design and scope of services, the new gensets are more flexible and can more easily be integrated into customer projects. Now lower in height, they also come with numerous additional standard options for the customer, such as a choice between two generator and control system manufacturers. Highly cost-efficient, the genset engines comply with TA Luft (the German air pollution control regulation) and Singapore’s NEA emissions rules, without any need for external exhaust aftertreatment.

Also to be presented for the first time at the trade fair is the new genset based on mtu's new-generation Series 2000 engines. The 18V Series 2000 G06 genset equipped with Common Rail technology delivers power outputs up to 1,400 kVA. At the trade show, which is the biggest meeting of energy industry professionals in the Middle East, mtu will be showcasing its portfolio of diesel gensets with outputs up to 3,400 kVA and gas engine systems up to 2,150 kW. Among the exhibits are models of a 16V Series 4000 diesel genset and a containerized Series 4000 gas-powered genset.

For the first time, regional sales partners are to play a role in mtu Onsite Energy’s trade show presentation. Among those who will give presentations and will be on hand to talk to customers at the booth will be distributors from the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Saudi-Arabia. Among those present will be Sawary Energy, with whom mtu Onsite Energy recently signed a distribution agreement for sales and service in Saudi Arabia. This contract covers sales rights for 60 Hz diesel generators with power outputs up to 3,250 kWe and includes service rights for mtu and Detroit Diesel engines for various off-highway applications.
