mtu to supply more than 200 Engines for Rodriguez Luxury Yachts

The French shipbuilding group Rodriguez has signed a framework contract with MTU Friedrichshafen for more than 200 yacht engines.
The French shipbuilding group Rodriguez has signed a framework contract with MTU Friedrichshafen for more than 200 yacht engines. mtu is to deliver the Series 2000 and Series 4000 engines in various cylinder configurations until the end of 2007.

“This new large-scale order from the shipbuilding sector shows that our Common Rail engines are exactly what customers request“, says Rainer Breidenbach, mtu Executive Vice President, Sales. The conclusion of the contract confirms MTU Friedrichshafen’s dominance in the 80 to 120 foot yacht sector.

The engines will mainly power Mangusta and Léopard luxury yachts. Based at Cannes in the South of France, the Rodriguez Group fits out its yachts to its clients’ individual specifications and uses mtu engines exclusively. As well as building luxury craft, the Rodriguez Group provides a comprehensive yachting service which also includes brokerage, chartering, administration and insurance.
